Single Family Homes stand alone on a privately owned land/lot. Here, they are typically unattached to any other dwelling units, except in rare cases. Condominiums are built in clusters on shared ground, but one can own the *interior* of a unit privately. Condos have mandatory dues to cover certain expenses in order to keep the condo association in good repair and to provide utilities & often have a number of convenient advantages. Dry Cabins: Contrary to the myth that only the mentally deranged would wish to live in a small rural home with no running water...it's a time honored tradition here in interior Alaska. Extremely popular with students, small scale dog mushers, outdoor enthusiasts, visitors and folks just watching their monthly housing budget, we have literally HUNDREDS of dry cabins rented or owned.
